Due to the current healthcare conditions, the programmes that our Education Department has designed for the educational system (preschool, primary and secondary school, vocational education and baccalaureate) and for associations and adults in training programmes will be suspended until further notice.
To palliate this situation to the extent possible, we are designing new online educational activities which we will be announcing through our usual channels within the next few weeks. Likewise, the Education Department will attend to and assist all schools, groups and associations interested in visiting the museum on their own regarding the protocols to follow to ensure a safe visit.
Following strict health protocols as well, we are continuing to offer programmes for families, adults over the age of 60 and the public with special needs. For more information, please check the corresponding section.
An itinerary associated with CEIDAs School Agenda 21 programme for improving environmental education and sustainable development. Pupils in ESO and Baccalaureate secondary education are given the opportunity to think about and discuss how a large variety of materials created for a specific use can be reused in art, and with the kind of results seen in a number of artworks in the Museum.

We understand art as being a first class educational resource that lets people develop their capacities and boost their spirits and critical analysis regarding things that surround us. Art is vitally important in our overall development as people.
For this very reason, almost all the educational programmes organised by the museum go hand in hand with training sessions targeted at teachers in which they are informed, documented and, if necessary, thoroughly prepared for the visits. In the case of those visits in which a teacher is leading the group as a guide, then the teacher must attend the preparatory sessions prior to the scheduled visit in order for the visit to be completely successful.

We invite people with visual, cognitive or other handicaps and impediments, or who are participating in social insertion programmes to get to know the museum Collections.
People with visual handicaps or impediments
People with visual handicaps or impediments are given the opportunity of acquainting themselves with the museum Collections thanks to the collaboration of Iberdrola and ONCE, the Spanish National Association for the Blind. Firstly, they will take an approximately 1-hour visit through the museum´s different exhibition halls before taking part in a specially prepared experimentation space where they will be invited to have tactile, physical contact with a series of materials and artistic techniques and four sculptures from the Collection in order for them to be able to analyse the relationships between size and shape, texture and matter, etc.
People with cognitive difficulties
In collaboration with Iberdrola and Gorabide, the special visitor´s programme designed for people with cognitive difficulties poses an introduction to the museum that is specially adapted to the needs and interests of each particular group. The aim of these visits is to offer people with special learning difficulties the same resources, spaces and services that are available to the remainder of the general public. Not only are visits intended to prove useful tools in their everyday lives and in the lives of their carers, but it is hoped that they will prove to be agreeable, meaningful experiences for everyone.
People participating in social insertion programmes
Visits to the museum´s Permanent and different Temporary Collections have been specially designed for people in social insertion programmes. A museum Educator will accompany them on these specially prepared visits that will use methodologies that will be adapted to each particular group´s special interests and expectations.
