The exhibition took a fresh look at the work and style of Spanish master Francisco de Zurbarán (1598-1664), in his later creative maturity. A selection of nearly 30 works, including "Virgin with the Child Jesus and the Child St. John" (the last work signed and dated by the artist (1662) and currently in the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum collection), explores this late period in which his style softened quite noticeably.
