Ramón Zuriarrain. Miss mundos

During the 1970s, Ramón Zuriarrain (San Sebastián, 1948) was influenced by Surrealist ideas, also appreciable in the work of Vicente Ameztoy, Juan Luis Goenaga and Carlos Sanz. He was subsequently drawn towards an abstract, gestural style of painting, featuring intense colour contrasts and large formats. Landscapes by day or night and portraits are amongst his recurring themes. In his paintings, Zuriarrain organizes studiedly executed scenarios of a highly imaginative expressiveness.
